Strong Seam® - Storage Tank Standing Seam Paneling System

Standing Seam Insulation System

The StrongSeam® Panel Insulation system consists of a composite panel created from laminating a metallic outer skin to thermal insulation. Adjacent panels are held together via a machine-formed weatherproof standing seam, the heart of the StrongSeam® system that extends the entire height of the tank.

We can supply and install tank insulation systems for the following industries:
  • Refineries, Chemical Plants, & Power generation plants
  • Tank Insulation - Commercial Applications – Water Storage
  • Tank Insulation for Oil Application(Asphalt, Sulphur, Crude and Fire Water Tanks)
  • Chilled Water & Thermal Energy Storage ( T.E.S. Systems )
  • Insulated Wastewater Tanks
  • Beverage and Fermentation Tanks
  • Equipment, Coke Drums and Hot Boxes
  • Food processing plants
  • Ethanol manufacturing
  • Biodiesel

Benefits of Strong Seam® Paneling System

Machine Formed Standing Seam Contour

The heart of a Strong Seam® system is the machine-formed standing seam that bonds adjacent panels together. This weatherproof seam extends the entire height of the tank and is also used on the panels that make up the insulated tank roof. Captured within this double-locking seam are retaining clips that attach the panels to steel cables which are securely wrapped around the circumference of the tank.

Lowers long terms costs.

A Strong Seam® tank insulation system reduces the installed cost of a tank insulation package while lowering long-term maintenance requirements. These savings are due primarily to the design experience and commitment to quality construction by Straight Line Industrial Services Inc.

Tanks susceptible to ground water

If the tanks location is susceptible to ground water or if the tank contents could leak, the bottom of each insulation panel can be equipped with cellular glass insulation. Strong Seam® panels can be trimmed and sealed to fit around tank protrusions such as stairs, ladder brackets, nozzles and man-ways. Straight Line can manufacture man-way covers which are our very own Straight-WRAP™ removable insulation flex covers.

Easy Installation

Skilled, trained and certified SLIS employees can install a strong Seam® System without the need for scaffolding, welding or hot permits. For most applications, a climbing basket (work cage) suspended from tank's center nozzle or painted lug, permits the seaming machine and our personnel to travel the height on the tank.
